Guess My job’ – Employer engagement activity in schools
This academic year we have recruited volunteers across Leicester, Leicestershire & Rutland to attend various schools and take part in ‘Guess my Job ‘activities with classes and assemblies of year 7 students. This involves students asking business volunteers questions about their role and gathering the clues to work out what their job is. The aim of this activity is to open students’ eyes to jobs that they may not know exist and learn about skills needed to carry out a similar role.
I taught year 7 later on in the day and they were raving about it. Lots of talk about how hard you needed to study to be a solicitor, but the pay was worth it

Thank you to volunteers from Leicester County Council, Nelson’s Law firm, Knights plc, Kier Construction and Thermofisher for joining us for these sessions as these are an important part of careers education in secondary schools to help students bridge the gap between school and the world of work.
Naomi was fantastic. She pitched it so well to the age range and was positive.
