Yesterday chancellor Rishi Sunak has announced a new scheme to help young people secure jobs.
The kickstart scheme will help those aged between 16 to 24.The fund will subsidise six-month work placements for people on Universal Credit in the age group who are at risk of long-term unemployment. We work closely with many young people in this situation and will be looking to link with business and local government so we can use the scheme to give these young people a hand up.
The scheme is a real boost for young people in a difficult time and we are keen to ensure young people from more disadvantaged backgrounds are supported to benefit from it.
