This week we ran our first employability webinar of the month delivered to NEET Young People. Ellis Di Cataldo who is the Social Media and Content Manager at Rock Kitchen Harris delivered a webinar called Using LinkedIn for your Job Search.
Keeping it light, fun and engaging Ellis explained what LinkedIn was, why it is useful, how to build a profile, how to job search and what is good social media etiquette.
At the end of the webinar there was an opportunity for young people to ask questions in a Q&A session with Ellis. There were a range of questions including how to search for internships, viewing profiles, how to endorse skills and what content to post on your profile.
One young person was even creating his own profile as the webinar was going on!
Zoom has been a lifeline when working with young people during a pandemic and it was great to see businesses collaborating with us and the YES Project to help young people and teach them new skills. LinkedIn is a great tool for young people not in education, employment and training to look for jobs and get themselves out there. We are looking forward to making connections with our young people over LinkedIn!
Once again, thank you Ellis for delivering the webinar. It was great to work with you on this and our young people enjoyed the webinar.
On August 19th we are running our second employability webinar with Rob Allen from Everards called Getting To Grips With Interviews. If you would like to join please contact Simran, YES Project Development Officer at simran@leicestershirecares.co.uk
