Huge congratulations to Tracy Renshaw from Walker & Son, Samworth Brothers, who won the volunteer of the year award at our annual celebration and awards evening. Tracy was chosen from an impressive shortlist of 7 nominees, all of whom have made a significant contribution to the work we do with young people and community groups.
When presenting the award Kieran Breen our CEO noted
Throughout the year, Tracy has shown time and time again that she has, passion, empathy, creativity, and a real drive. This has seen her being involved in a variety of our projects from supporting young people in schools, organising work tours, participating in a youth group visit to the house of commons and encouraging and mobilising her colleagues across the Samworth family to get involved in our partnership work. She has done all of this in an open and humble way, where she is always willing to share and learn and in doing so has inspired our staff, community partners and young people

I did not expect to win this, I volunteer with Leicestershire cares, because I enjoy it so much and it is line with the spirt of the Samworth Brothers group’s commitment to giving back to the community and supporting young people. My contribution would not have been possible without the support of my colleagues, and I am accepting this award on behalf of all the Samworth staff
