Leicestershire Cares partners with Reaching People on their Refurb project to enable people to develop their digital skills. Over the last year Samworth Brothers have donated laptops they no longer need which have been wiped clean , upgraded and given to people who do not have access to a computer by Reaching People staff. This is a simple, effective and green way to promote digital inclusion. In recognition of their efforts, they were presented with our Digital Inclusion award by Sangeeta Patel, Joint CEO of Reaching People.
It has been great working in partnership with Leicestershire Cares and Samworth Brothers, to tackle digital exclusion. The Laptops that Samworth Brothers donated, are now enabling people young and old , across our communities to access the internet, apply for jobs and services, access information and support and help their children with their homework
We will continue to partner with Reaching People and encourage anyone who has an old laptop, tablet or smart phone to consider donating it to this great project.
