Our Community Development Team are proud to announce the incredible results of their 2022 Toys on the Table campaign.
Every year during the festive period, we join up with "Toys on the Table", a Leicester City charity who prepare and send out toys as Christmas gifts to children from disadvantaged communities. With the support of our business members, we organise teams of volunteers who support the charity by wrapping, labelling, and sorting their gifts.
The team had an amazing time! Jason, Libbie and Abbie visited Toys on the Table to support the great work they do, wrapping presents that will then be distributed to vulnerable and disadvantaged children across Leicestershire. Thank you to the Community Development Team at Leicestershire Cares for organising this opportunity for us!

With this collaboration between the business and charity sector, our Toys on the Table campaign ensures countless children who would otherwise receive nothing at Christmas don't get left behind. Our partnership working delivers crucial support and a much-needed boost people in vulnerable and disadvantaged communities during the often challenging winter months.

The Community Development Team are delighted to report that, in 2022, they were able to coordinate:
- 29 volunteer sessions at Toys on the Table
- In partnership with 11 businesses
- With a total of 79 volunteers and 197.5 volunteer-hours put in
Our teams have thoroughly enjoyed their sessions with Toys on the Table. It was a fantastic experience, being able to support a charity that is doing such inspiring work in our communities, and we're so thankful to Leicestershire Cares for making this happen. Thank you from all of us at Saladworks!

Toys on the Table puts into action Leicestershire Cares' "Power to Change" model, which lies at the heart of everything we do. We believe that by involving grassroots organisations and community members in projects aimed to support their needs we can learn from them about the complex and inter-locking challenges they face. When we then form creative and agile partnerships between the business and public sector, we can make a transformational, positive difference in our communities.
The Community Development Team were absolutely thrilled to partner up with our business members once again for Toys on the Table campaign. It's really inspiring to see so many organisations put in the work to support a good cause, and I cannot thank all of you enough for the kindness and commitment you showed this year. We look forward to continue to collaborate and build a safer, more inclusive Leicester, Leicestershire, and Rutland where no one is left behind.
