On Thursday 16th of January, we decided to go and do some team building activities by way of taking a short break from creating content and went to play some crazy golf at Leicester's own Treetop crazy golf. However when you get a group of young people who are passionate about creating art the down time isn't long and it wasn't before we were back at the creating side of things. So to put some of the digital media skills we have learnt into practice we decided to shoot a music video for a song that group have collectively made and inputted into. The young artist who is the main person on the song Sam (Dah Gee Starz) who has been working with us now for a little while was keen to try and elevate his art to a higher level and after I explained that to achieve this we need team work, and that being said, the group put their heads together and came up with a location and theme for the music video, however….
First we attended the treetop crazy gold who kindly gave a free session around there amazing inside crazy golf course, we split into two group and genuinely enjoyed every moment of the free round of golf, sadly myself the youth worker did not win but did manage to come second, the objective of the session was first to unwind and have some fun but also to raise confidence.
After the fun of Treetop golf we headed to our secret filming location and began filming our music video, working as a team we had one young person on lighting duty, two young people doing the role as a grip (which means they guided the person actually filming and one young person being the overall director, with the rest of the guys being extras in the video (that we cant wait to share with you all). The growth this group of young people is off the charts, the way they work as a team to achieve induvial goals is simply incredible.
In the meantime until the official music video is released on 1st of February 2025 you can stream the new track by Dah Gee Starz on all music streaming sites and the music player below.
BM - Leicestershire cares, what can I say other than they are always here for us.
