Thursday 10th August saw our first Digital Media workshop session, held in the Leicestershire Care warehouse. The 7 young people who attended got the opportunity to learn the art of recording a podcast, including setting up the equipment. Favourite films, the cost of living, drugs within boxing and Artificial Intelligence were among the topic that were discussed during the hour-long recording. The young people were from many different groups and backgrounds but came together and created a wonderful buzz of enthusiasm, laughter and respect, noticeably gaining in confidence as the session progressed.
Many other forms of digital media will be explored during this Power to Change Project, including graphic design, photography and music production. The sessions run from 4.30-6.00pm every Thursday evening and are open to 16–25-year-olds.
