As part of the YES Project, we’re excited to announce a new 6 week employability scheme starting for young people aged 15 – 24 who are not in education, employment or training.
The scheme will offer two sessions per week, with activities in:
- boosting confidence
- creating CVs
- cover letters
- job searches
- interview preparation and practise
- mock interviews with volunteers from business
- careers talks by business members and opportunities for networking and mentoring
Participants will be able to draw on employment experiences of our business members to help guide and inspire them into work or training. We have a wide variety of our business members already signed up to support the programme by offering their time to assist with things like mock interviews and business talks.
The first programme is well underway, with a couple of volunteers from Lloyds Banking Group already helping to engage our young people and present them with some excellent advice in regards to employability so we thank you for that and look forward to working with you further. Also, a big thank you to all of our other business volunteers who will be supporting this programme and plenty of others going forward.
