I would like to learn more about how to establish myself as a brand
participant
In the penultimate session of the Man Cave session, participants delved into key business concepts, including finance and budgeting, accounting, and pricing strategy. This hands-on session provided them with a real-world glimpse of what it takes to set up and run a business. Curtis and Becky from the Iconic Group facilitated the workshop, guiding participants through a Dragon's Den-style experience. Participants were given fake money to invest in potential business ideas, simulating real-life investment decisions.
Before making their investments, participants learned essential financial terminology such as outgoings, balance, profit, marketing, social media strategy, economic forecasting, and depreciation. Once they grasped these concepts, they participated in a mock investment exercise, where they were asked whether they would invest £2,000 in a streetwear business. Through this exercise, they developed negotiation skills, learning to weigh the risks and rewards of investment. While some chose to invest, others opted out, but all participants gained valuable teamwork and decision-making experience.
Many participants expressed that they found the workshops not only informative but also it was enjoyable. The staff also noted how well the participants engaged with the material, highlighting that the interactive nature of the workshops helped to maintain high levels of interest and participation
The participants responded exceptionally well to the content we delivered. They quickly grasped the concepts of the Pinpoint process and Six Thinking Hats methodology, which were new to many of them.

For the final session, participants explored various corporate structures, including self-employment, CICs (Community Interest Companies), and limited companies. This was followed by an engaging Q&A session with business owners, where participants asked insightful questions about how to start a business, handle rejection, and navigate the challenges of entrepreneurship.
Reflecting on the six weeks, participants expressed their gratitude to the businesses involved, noting the invaluable lessons learned. Many entered with little to no business knowledge but are now motivated and prepared to start their entrepreneurial journeys.

We hope they’ve learned a lot more about building up a new business, what’s required and also how to ensure they will stay financially stable.
