Jumpstarting 2025 with a busy and impactful January

30 Jan 2025

At Leicestershire Cares we connect businesses with opportunities to give back to their local community through employee volunteering. Our education work focuses on delivering employability education in both mainstream and SEND Schools and we work with schools across Leicester City and County.

The Education team has had an exciting start to 2025 with four of our Interview Technique events at three great schools – with the help of 73 volunteers we interviewed a whopping 660 students, a combination of year 10 and 11. The Interview Technique project ensures that all students get a chance at having an interview experience.

First up, we were at Beaumont Leys with 23 of our amazing volunteers from Everards, Haymarket Shopping Centre, HRBS, CCB, Kindeve and Cavendish Nuclear

I think it went really well. She was very kind and cared about the future

Our second event was at Rushey Mead, the second of two sessions at his school, with the first one taking place at the start of December. At the January session we had 21 volunteers join us from East Midland Chambers, HRBS, DWP, Market Harborough Building Society, Leicester City Council, Sytner, CGI, ThermoFisher, Nelsons Law and Everards.

Very insightful and helpful as to the important skills needed in the industry

The second had 12 volunteers from Everards, HRBS, Samworth Brother, Curious Agency, Cavendish Nuclear and Sytner.
