Angels & Monsters are a friendly Leicester-based charity that helps young parents and their families. They offer a wide range of services and support, all completely free of charge. Their goal is to provide learning and growth opportunities to those in Leicestershire. They also have an OFSTED-registered creche on site to help ease the stress of parenthood. The charity have recently set up a free “shop” for service users and other families who have been referred. This offers pre-loved childrens & adults clothes, shoes, homeware, toys and baby equipment, all totally free of charge.
On Monday 18th December two members of the Leicestershire Cares Community Development Team volunteered at Angel and Monsters Christmas party. Over 20 parents and their babies and toddlers, enjoyed playtime fun and were later treated to a buffet lunch, donated by Walker & Son and Bradgate Bakery. The Community Development team donated table decorations, and contributed towards the buffet with sweet treats.
The morning was a great success, ending with the Community Development Team supplying Bags of Hope to every child, including hand-knitted hats, make and donated by Thermofisher.
