We were delighted to present Denise Bradshaw of Hinckley and Rugby Building Society (HRBS) with our star champion award at our March Champions meeting, kindly hosted by Nylacast PLC.
In presenting the award Kieran our CEO shared:
Denise is a real inspiration, she combines passion, commitment, creativity, kindness and fun to inspire and support her colleagues to volunteer across our projects. In doing so she has made a real difference to young people and community groups across our city and county. In addition to that she has continued to support young people learning to read and is now working with us on relaunching our Go For Reading project, she is a real star champion
Kieran Breen CEO Leicestershire Cares
In accepting the award Denise shared:
I really love my role as a champion, and it is great that HRBS supports myself and staff to give back to the community. I learn so much from engaging across the various projects and if I had one tip for other champions as to how to inspire people to volunteer, it would be to find the time to talk to them and to share how volunteering on the various projects makes a difference for the young people and community groups but also yourself
Partnering with the business community is central to our #PowerToChange approach to supporting young people and community groups. We are looking forward to partnering with Denise, her colleagues at HRBS and all our champions in the year ahead.
