Baby Basics Leicester is a volunteer-led charity with the goal of supporting families who are struggling to afford the financial and practical responsibilities of caring for a new baby or young child. They offer essential items and equipment free of charge on a referral basis. Collaborating with health professionals and other charities, they help to ensure that families in need receive the support they require. The team currently help around 75 children and their families every month.
Over the last few months, several business members have given their time and donations to the charity. The teams of volunteers from Walkers & Son, Saladworks and Alltruck spent a morning or afternoon helping to sort and categorise clothing donations.
The charity wouldn't exist without volunteers, and wouldn't be able to operate on the scale that it currently does. Families who receive help are incredibly thankful and amazed by the items they receive. It improves their quality of life and gives their young children a better start in life.
They enjoyed it so much they'd like to volunteer again
