Clarence House is a local Age UK centre that offers a range of activities, services, and resources specifically designed for older people in Leicester and Leicestershire. The centre is open to the public and free to visit, and we are continuously expanding the range of activities available.
From 12th to 14th December, volunteers from Cambridge and Counties Bank, Knights and Nelsons joined the regular team to help with the annual Festive celebrations. Over three days, more than 150 guests were entertained by local primary school choirs and enjoyed a 3-course meal during the Christmas lunches.
The business volunteers helped with serving the food, clearing the tables, and conversing with the guests throughout the afternoon. The companies also generously donated table decorations, including crackers, napkins, and individual favours. Staff members also kindly contributed to beautiful hampers, which were used as raffle prizes at each lunch. The volunteers also served mince pies and bucks fizz to all attendees.
Thanks to the hard work of our volunteers and the generous contributions of Cambridge and Counties Bank, Knights, and Nelsons, the festive celebrations were a huge success.
