The pandemic has created several challenges for charities, with many missing out on vital fundraising opportunities at a time when demands for their services have increased by 70%. As always it is inspiring and encouraging to see local businesses, organisations and communities stepping up to provide a beacon of light in uncertain times.
We are excited to announce that we are one of eight charities chosen to be a part of the 2020 Charity Winter Gardens. This event, created by Oldman & Sons (https://oldmanandsons.co.uk/), encourages people to decorate their gardens, houses, shop windows or offices along with a poster of their chosen charity. Passers-by can then make a small donation by scanning the QR code on the poster to help fundraise for local charities. This event is also a lovely way to spread some cheer and celebrate the vibrant communities we live in.
