VIP PROJECT CASE STUDY: C.T

9 Jan 2025

CT joined the VIP project with the goal of gaining employability skills and building confidence after being out of work for over 10 years. Initially, CT expressed no intention of re-entering the workforce but wanted to explore ways to improve his skills and self-belief. Long-term unemployment had left CT feeling uncertain about his abilities and how to approach the job market.

The first step in supporting CT involved a CV Session, as his previous CV had not been updated since leaving school. A step-by-step approach was taken to draft and refine his CV. This included tailoring it to highlight transferable skills and relevant experiences. The finalized CV was reviewed by a business partner to ensure it met current employment standards.

Building confidence was a key focus, as CT felt unsure about his ability to secure employment after such a long gap. Mock interview sessions were arranged to provide practical experience and guidance. These sessions covered common interview questions, body language, and strategies for handling nerves. Feedback and additional tips were shared after the session to help CT improve further. With newfound confidence, CT began applying for roles in various industries. Although initially hesitant to attend interviews, CT overcame his anxiety with continued encouragement and preparation.

CT successfully attended his first interview, marking a significant milestone in his journey. This experience helped CT recognize his potential and boosted his confidence to pursue further opportunities.

Through the support received from Leicestershire cares , CT now feels equipped to navigate the job market independently. He is actively applying for roles and has gained the skills needed to succeed in the working world. CT’s journey highlights the impact of targeted support and the importance of perseverance in achieving goals.
