The Laura Centre say thank you to CPW for bathroom upgrade

7 May 2024

The Laura Centre is an organisation that offers therapeutic support for parents who have lost a child, and for children who have lost a parent, significant carer, or sibling. They provide a range of holistic services and support to help clients work through their grief process and overcome the mental health issues they face. This enables them to reconnect healthily with close family relationships and re-engage socially, emotionally, in education and in employment. The charity is based in Leicester and helps over 700 people every year, providing their time and expertise to support them during their most difficult times.

Leicestershire Cares' Community Development team recently collaborated with local business CPW to renovate the center's bathrooms. The result of their three days of hard work included sanding, filling, painting, and glossing, resulting in a remarkable transformation. The team generously supplied personal touches, such as mirrors, pictures, vases, and a new storage cupboard, which created a warm and welcoming environment for both clients and staff.

The upgrade will assist The Laura Centre in providing a warm and comfortable environment for our beneficiaries to work through their grief issues. As our beneficiaries are usually struggling, it is important that they are in a good environment. Leicestershire Cares would like to express gratitude to the team for carrying out the work respectfully, with their time, energy, sensitivity and compassion.

Thank you so much for the incredible transformation of our bathroom...it ran very smoothly with minimal disruption, which is unheard of when we get volunteers in to do any work for us! We loved all the finishing touches

Sandip Binning; CEO, The Laura Centre

It was a pleasure to be there in a nice calm environment and support the Centre which does such great and valuable work.
